To understand what branding means, it’s important to first know what brands are. In a nutshell, a brand is the image or idea of a product/service that people can identify and connect with, by recognizing the name, logo or design of the business that owns the image or idea. Branding is when the latter is heavily marketed and promoted so that it is instantly identified by millions of people and connected with a certain company when there are several other competitors offering the same product/service in that niche. Examples of successful brands are Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter.
